Walls of text, like those on C2 Wiki and TV Tropes, are kind of boring and hard to read compared to pages spiced up with ornaments for web pages such as Reddit emotes or Wikipedia chat icons. This page collects some ideas for spicing up pages.
It would be nice to have some old fashioned typographical devices like the aldus leaf or fleuron, and pilcrow. Could also have a date insertion widget, using my shorthand symbols for days of the weeks—in SVG versions of course.
Typographical ornaments are good for general subject pages, but specific subjects can also have specific ornaments. Music pages, for example, can use notes and clefs as ornaments.
Do pull-quotes and other asides count as ornaments?
Some pilfered from Wikipedia's Punctuation marks template:
We use a treble clef, a python logo, and experimental asides.
